Brodino: Italian for "little broth"

Chef/Founder Evan Katz’ love of soup can be traced back to his childhood. He remembers frequently ordering multiple bowls of chicken noodle soup in one sitting at the local diner and sipping broth for breakfast INSTEAD OF CEREAL. While working at an Italian cafe in San Francisco in 2004, Evan was observed by his co-workers eating soup at almost every lunch break, and given the nickname “Brodino,” an obvious choice.

After several different careers over the years, from high school teacher to music producer, Evan turned a lifelong love of Soup into a small local business in 2017.  He was unsatisfied with the soup options at the grocery store, where cans and boxes of broth and soup are filled with flavor enhancers and other ingredients in a poor attempt at emulating that homemade flavor. Starting out in his home kitchen, he went from feeding friends and family to serving his broth at local events and Farmers' Markets.

You can now find Brodino Broth and Scratch Made Soups at 20 weekly Farmers' Markets in San Diego, LA, aNd Orange Counties. At Brodino our mission is to unlock the soup lover inside all of us.
